Algae Growing Behind Vinyl Liners. Over the last 12 yrs i have probably looked at over 100 inground vinyl pools with this black mold growth under the liner. There s no way the water will come back if you have a layer of leaves on the bottom of the pool or floating around on top.
Algae mold and mildew will not grow in a clean and properly sanitized tub. The pool water is clean but the liner is covered it what appears to be brown and red algae. Although vinyl liner pool surfaces are relatively non porous there are sections such as the plastic steps attached to the pool wall and behind light niches that are prone to algae growth. Treating it as such many technicians drop the ph and super chlorinate the water.
