Applying Laminate Edging Strip. The durable laminate resists scrapes or scuffs and requires no polishing or buffing. Cover the exposed end of the countertop with a layer of wood glue. Get it as soon as tue sep 15.
This excess needs to be trimmed back and filed level with the countertop surface for a finished look. Step 3 clean up worktop edge and laminate strip.
You will notice in the picture above how the laminate edge strip sticks past every edge of my countertop.
If your edging is structurally sound but is stained or yellowing you can update it simply by painting it. Use some pieces of timber to flatten the laminate strip as much as possible. Each of our laminate worktops comes with at least one fully finished side that has either a square edge a 3mm or 6mm smooth edge profile. Before applying any adhesive to either your laminate worktop strip or work surface edge you have to ensure that both surfaces are clean and free from dust or debris.
