Are Laminated Birth Certificates Valid. For instance the dmv won t accept a laminated birth certificate. After going through lots of stress to get my original birth certificate i quickly laminated it to have it protected. Any response to my query is highly appreciated.
An abstract birth certificate is not the same as an original or certified birth certificate regardless of whether it is accepted as valid identification for purposes other than getting a real id. However see my first comment and it explains why the answer is no you can not laminate either documents.
Neither will the us passport agency.
It would be unacceptable by embassies and schools hospitals etc that are up to international standard practices. Any response to my query is highly appreciated. I laminated my original birth certificate a few years back due to the ageing paper and i recently obtained copies of the birth certificate which have been issued by the authorities laminated are these accepeted by the embassy. If you need to have it framed like a photo or for storage keep in plastic.
