Area Rug Just Under Coffee Table. It was a great visual lesson for me and one i ve taken to heart ever since. If you take away just one piece of advice from us please let it be to opt for a larger rug than you think you need. The desk could double as a writing space or reading area.
An area rug is not meant to anchor a coffee table. A good rule of thumb is to measure how big your table and chairs are and try to add at least 30cm all the way around.
So i saved up and got a good deal on a big rug that fit the space.
The coffee table nearly eclipsed it. For smaller living rooms you have two options. This is a living room with a dinette off to the side. It will look great and creates a sense of more floor space too.
